Katie might believe that she’s only risking Will’s future resentment. But Bill was serious. He’s going to war with his ex-wife and the mother of his youngest child. That may also mean he will seek full control of their child.
Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) was present while Katie and Bill argued about Will. The scenes were intense, as the unexpected stakes Bill is facing could result in him only having visitation, which he fiercely believes will not happen.
Batie was actually in a good place a handful of weeks ago. Bill went to Katie’s place and had a true heart-to-heart with her. They honestly shared their feelings about Will and seemed to have at least reached a shared plan that would move their family forward.
Longtime B&B fans also wondered if it might be possible for Bill and Katie to be opening the door to eventual reconciliation? With the Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) obsession shelved, it wasn’t unthinkable that Bill would gravitate toward a one-time love who appears to have maintained some deep feelings for him.
Yes, Thorne has become important in Katie’s life. After Watie ended, Rademacher’s character quickly filled an open romantic space. But Korne has literally only been together for a matter of weeks. So there is no history between them.
Sharing a child with anyone means a lifetime bond. Regardless of past acrimony, it was and remains obvious that Bill’s love for Will impacts Katie. Nevertheless, she opted to seek full custody because of her perception of Will’s evolved feelings for his father.
Will appears to be confused about his dad’s significant absence. Thorne labeled the boy’s mood as the result of obvious neglect, which projected his bias in Katie’s favor. Bill naturally resented anyone, most especially Katie’s post-Wyatt (Darin Brooks) boyfriend, making pronouncements about Will. Bill also recognized Thorne’s attempt to lay the groundwork whereby he would become Will’s father figure.

There appear to be three ways this coming legal matter will be resolved. One, the status quo is maintained, which could include punitive sanctions if shared custody isn’t adhered to by either side. Two, Katie wins sole custody. Three, Bill does.
Either half of the one-time Batie would be devastated and enraged if open access is denied to Will. Meanwhile, a coming physical confrontation between Thorne and Bill, or Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Bill, or Bill against both men, seems plausible as well.
