The soap opera ratings have been reported by Soap Opera Network for the week of Monday, December 11, 2017 to Friday, December 15, 2017. There were no pre-emptions nor breaking news that had interrupted nor interfered with the ratings in any way this week!
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
CBS’ Y&R rose 80,000 in total viewership, still sitting at the top with 4,556,000 in total viewers. Compared to theprevious week, the CBS soap opera also gained 6,000 viewers among women between ages 18-49. JT Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbull) stirred up a lot of emotions and excitement as he returned to Genoa City to investigate his ex-wife, Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) family. Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) reveals to Mariah (Camryn Grimes) that she caught Scott (Daniel Hall) kissing Abby (Melissa Ordway); resulting in Mariah issuing a warning to Scott. It’s no wonder Y&R took top spot in rating this week!
DAYS OF OUR LIVES
NBC’s DOOL also gained in total viewership from the previous week, going up 12,000 and settling with 2,330,000 in total viewers. The NBC daytime drama was the one to gain the most in women viewers aged 18-49 gaining 9,000 from the week before. It was a tough week, as Salemites said “goodbye” to fan favorite Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney); but not before Sami gets caught in one last tight spot after her one-night with Rafe (Galen Gering) is discovered. JJ (Casey Moss) learns his fate after shooting Theo (Kyle Pettis), and loved ones desperately try to reach out to him.
THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
CBS’ B&B fell in total viewership by 79,000 from the previous week and had 3,524,000 in total viewers. It also dropped 8,000 viewers among women ages 18-49. This was a tough week for the CBS soap opera, as Thorne (Ingo Rademacher) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) continue to compete for Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) heart. Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) continues to struggle over after having sex with her father-in-law, Bill (Don Diamont) as Bill hides how he truly feels about Steffy, from his son Liam (Scott Clifton). Will Liam ever find true happiness in his marriage?
GENERAL HOSPITAL
ABC’s GH had an amazing week last week as it hit an all-time high; this week is a drastic difference, dropping 110,000 in total viewership and now having 2,790,000 in total viewers. It also lost 40,000 viewers among women 18-49. Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Jason (Steve Burton) don’t seem to be connecting, as she is only concerned for Drew (Billy Miller). Monica (Leslie Charleson) welcomes all new Quartermaines, much to Ned’s (Wally Kurth) chagrin. Cassandra (Jessica Tuck) and Finn (Michael Easton) continue to bond over her scheme to deal drugs in Port Charles. Michael (Chad Duell) struggles with Nelle’s (Chloe Lanier) pregnancy news.
It seems all four daytime soap operas had their highs and lows this week as we bid farewell to some incredible characters and welcomed others. How do you feel about all the stories that happened this week and how would you rate all of the daytime soap operas? Please let us know what you think!
