Neighbours Spoilers: Heartbreak Ahead For Tyler And Piper

If the recently released Neighbours trailer is anything to go by, Piper and Tyler will be facing severe heart break in the new year.

Last year’s final episode saw shocking scenes, when Tyler Brennan (Travis Burns) went to the police and admitted that he hit Hamish over the head with a gnome on the night of his death. For this reason, we already know that the new year is going to be tough for the young couple, but trailers make it seems that worse is yet to come.

Australian network Eleven, which is responsible for broadcasting Neighbours in its home country, released a gripping 2018 promo last week. It firstly features a recap of Tyler and Piper’s (Mavournee Hazel) relationship – documenting their highs and lows, their moments of love and the moments that tested them, including, of course, the Hamish drama.

Following, there is a flash forward to this year’s new season. The happy news is that Tyler has been released on bail while he awaits his fate – but it won’t be so happy when, in coming weeks, the charged is upped from manslaughter to murder.

Standing in their way (again) is Piper’s mother Terese, who is understandably worried about what Tyler’s possible prison sentence means for her daughter and is pessimistic about the couple’s future. Yet Piper is loyal as ever, determined to be by his side every step of the way.

Neighbours’ Piper is so loyal, in fact, that when Tyler declared that he will probably be “going to jail for a very long time,” Piper replies, “Unless there’s another option.” Are the couple running away together again? Will Piper do something extreme to save the love of her life?

Recently, Aussie newspaper the Herald Sun reported that Travis has quit his role of Neighbours’ Tyler in pursuit of Hollywood. Surely this will affect the storyline?

While Travis himself has kept quiet about the rumours, a Neighbours spokesperson told Digital Spy, “We don’t comment on casts contractual agreements.” However, with Tyler look set to be found guilty of murder, Travis recently getting married and cutting of his famous Tyler-Brennan-Man-Bun, is he set to leave Neighbours for good?
