Days Of Our Lives’ star Mary Beth Evans interviewed with Soap Opera Digest on their November 30th podcast. In the episode, Mary Beth praised Peggy McCay and talked about what an inspiration she was to the cast and crew of Days of Our Lives.
DOOL Peggy McCay Played The Brady Family Matriarch
Days of Our Lives’ Peggy McCay played the matriarch of the Brady family since 1983 but didn’t have a contract role until 1985. Caroline Brady’s children were Peter Reckell (Bo, deceased 2015), Patsy Pease (Kimberly, battling cancer), Josh Taylor (Roman, now running the Brady Pub), and Mary Beth Evans (Kayla, Doctor). Although Caroline was the family matriarch, it was revealed that she had an affair with Victor Kiriakis and Bo was a product of that affair. Later, Shawn and Caroline adopted Frankie and Max Brady.
Days Of Our Lives Mary Beth Evans Discusses Peggy’s DOOL Role
Mary Beth has played Days of Our Lives’ Kayla Brady Johnson since 1986 with a break to do other shows and raise her family for 15 years. This year marked the 30th anniversary of Steve and Kayla’s wedding on the days set. Mary Beth talked about Peggy McCay and what a strong Irish family that she and costar Frank Parker built with the Brady family. Mary Beth credits Peggy McCay for being a great inspiration to every actor who came in contact with her on the set. Peggy worked until 2016 which is an amazing accomplishment for older actors in the daytime world.

DOOL Characters Past and Present Will Make Appearances For The Memorial
Although NBC has not released who will attend the memorial services, fans hope to see several members of the family drop by Salem for the service. Could Jen Lilley make an appearance as Days Of Lives’ Theresa Donovan and bring Tate (Colin and Kyle Schroeder) for a visit with his family, especially Brady (Eric Martsolf)? Will Kimberly and Shane (Charles Shaughnessy) make the trip from California as well?
Max (formerly Darin Brooks) or Frankie (Billy Warlock) would be a welcome visitor, as well as grandchildren Stephanie (Shelley Hennig), Andrew (last played by an unknown actor in 1997), Sami (Alison Sweeney), Carrie (Christie Clark), Allie (formerly Carolyn and Campbell Rose), and Johnny (formerly Aaron and Griffin Kunitz) . Could Joey (James Lastovic) and Steve be out of prison by the memorial service, fans can only hope this is the case.
The memorial service taping was in November, but it is unclear when the episode will air because of Days of Our Lives’ tapes usually six months ahead of schedule, it could be as late as May before the episode airs.
As always, more detailed spoilers and a full collection of pictures for the week in question will appear here on Soap Opera Spy, when there could be more clues and hints over exactly what’s going on.
Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on the NBC network.
