General Hospital Luke & Franco Both Committed Assault, What Is The Real Difference?

General Hospital (GH) Luke (Anthony Geary) and Franco (Roger Howarth) both have committed sexual assault. Why is Luke accepted far more than Franco is by many fans?

Luke’s Assault Was Not Premeditated

Everyone knows that GH Luke raped Laura, however, Luke committed a crime of passion. Luke did not go there with the intention of raping Laura. Luke was drunk and took it to far, that is not an excuse for rape but it was written as Laura forgiving him and the two of them fell in love.

Franco Planned Every Aspect of Sam’s Assault

Franco drugged both Sam and Jason. Franco locked Jason in a room with a camera and made him watch part of the assault and then cruelly covered the camera and left him to assume the rest. Franco carried Sam from the shower, climbed into bed with her, touched her body all over and it was originally written as a rape.

General Hospital Franco went as far as to send a DVD saying “We’re gonna be a daddy”. He further sprays painted the elements of life on walls in Port Charles to torture Sam even more. Franco did not show an ounce of remorse up until the point that Jason shot and “killed” him in 2012.

Luke And Laura Married A Raised A Family.

Luke loved Laura, the writers changed the way the story was written because viewers loved the chemistry of the actors together. Laura went to counseling, got him, dealt with her feeling and married the man she fell in love with.

Sam Hated Franco For His Torture

Franco had kidnapped Sam and put her in a glass box that supposedly had a bomb attached. Franco tortured Jason, was an accomplice to Michael’s rape in prison and almost killed Lulu. Franco took crime scene photos with Maxie, threatened Michael with pictures of Claudia and even paid a man to jump off a roof to set Jason up.

Furthermore, Franco caused Sam to have to have a DNA test with Danny because she thought he raped her. If that wasn’t enough, his mother changed the DNA results to say Danny was Franco’s and Jason never knew different until he returned in 2017.

Luke Changed And Never Raped Again

Luke changed after the rape and never raped again. He might have been a womanizer but never repeated the rape. Luke was an absentee father for most of his kid’s lives but was not a bad man.

Franco Came Back And Still Committed Crimes

Even after the tumor diagnosis and removal, Franco continued to harass and stalk Sam. Franco harassed and belittled Drew when he thought he was Jason. Franco kidnapped four people and held them hostage with the threat of yet another bomb.

Franco stabbed his own mother and buried her alive. Franco continued to make fun of his victims and was never once truly remorseful for his actions.

These are the biggest reason of fans reactions concerning Franco and Luke. Luke was later diagnosed with DID but never committed half the crimes that Franco did after the brain tumor, let alone before it.
