General Hospital Spoilers: Is Chad Duell Hinting At An Adoption Switch Up?

General Hospital’s Chad Duell said on a recent “Stone Cold and Jackal” podcast that he didn’t think the writers were going to give Michael a baby. However, GH spoilers have showed Nelle is supposed to be pregnant and that DNA says the baby is Michael’s.

However, Michael and Nelle [Chloe Lanier] both live in Port Charles where DNA tests are about as reliable as the weather. So let’s explore what Chad’s comment might have really meant.

In simple means, it could be that Nelle is just going to take off and give the baby away and then disappear if things with Carly Corinthos [Laura Wright] don’t go as she wants. However, between Quartermaine and Corinthos sources, the baby would eventually be found and reunited with Michael which would foil Nelle’s plan. However, what if that baby isn’t really Michael’s and Nelle is blackmailing Brad [Parry Shen] to have the DNA test say it is?

We have seen time and again that Brad is not the most honest of characters and certainly not beyond messing with a DNA test, he did it for Britt Westbourne [Kelly Thiebaud] didn’t he? This coupled with the fact that Lucas and Brad want to adopt a baby but both have ties to the mob. A legal adoption for Brad and Lucas would be pretty well impossible.

However, a semi-private adoption would not since the mother picks the couple and knows about them. We all know that  Nelle isn’t beyond lying, cheating or stealing to get what she wants and neither is Brad.

General Hospital spoilers tease that Brad and Nelle sure seem really chummy lately and we know Brad is agreeing with Nelle about Carly for a reason, what if that reason is that Brad, not Michael is the father of Nelle’s baby? Brad and Lucas want a child so let’s assume that Brad got a call saying there was no way they could adopt and Nelle overheard.

So Nelle and Brad strike up at deal that gives them both what they want. Nelle agrees to be artificially inseminated with Brad’s child and this is the child he and Lucas are going to adopt. Lucas, of course, is left out of the plan because he would never do this to his nephew.

The pregnancy is supposed to bring Nelle and Michael closer together and she plans on him not being present at the birth so she can tell Michael that their child died. Nelle assumes the death of their child would endear Michael to her even more and they would grieve together, while she gets to see her child because of the adoption. This would in fact, give Brad and Lucas a child and Michael would end up without a child again.
