GH Maurice Benard’s Son Joining Show Business? Dad Says He’s Super Talented!

Talk about a chip off the old block! General Hospital actor Maurice Benard has said for years that none of his children are interested in following his footsteps into the entertainment industry. Well, now it looks like someone might have had a change of heart as the daytime television star has revealed that his only son, Joshua, has just got bitten by the acting bug.

The 13-year-old has already shown off his acting chops and dad Maurice seems to be blown away by his talent. Maurice, who plays Sonny Corinthos on General Hospital, recently told ABC Soaps in Depth in an interview, “He’s amazing. One day at home he did his monologue and it was so trippy. It’s scary to realize that’s the kind of actor that he’s going to be. He’s nothing like he seemed in the scene that he performed for me.”

So does this mean that the budding star might join his famous father on the canvas soon? Possibly so!

Maurice added, “He has a way about him. Once he gets his agent, it’s over. If he brings this kind of intensity to the big directors, they’ll hire him. He’s going to be big, and I don’t say this lightly. I said it with Steve Burton and Bryan Craig and look at them now! What’s great about it is that we are so close. Before, I loved my son and he loved me, but now we’re even closer.”
