General Hospital Steve Burton Weighs In On Chloe Lanier Departure From GH

While there’s no doubt that Chloe Lanier’s fans are definitely going to miss seeing her as the mischievous Nelle on General Hospital, it looks like her co-stars will, too. As a matter of fact, Steve Burton, who plays Jason Morgan in Port Charles, had nothing but high praise for Chloe as she plans on making her final appearance on the soap sometime in the next week.

Steve took to his Twitter account to send Chloe his good wishes. The actor wrote, “We know how well deserved your Emmy is from watching your performance throughout this story. You are a Rockstar. You will soar. Continue to work as hard as you do and nothing will stop you. All the best to you @chloelanier – sb.”

Chloe made it no secret that she was very touched by Steve’s kind words. She replied to him with, “Steve, thank you for your sweet words of encouragement! This means so much. Thank you for being so open and remarkable to work with. I hope we get the chance to do it again.”

Now as far as why Chloe has decided to leave the highly rated soap, the actress told ABC Soaps in Depth in an interview that she never envisioned herself staying on the soap for more than a few short years. Also, working on General Hospital five days a week limited her ability to audition for other projects. Chloe has said that she wants to pursue other opportunities in the entertainment industry.
