General Hospital fans were first introduced to Steve on December 19, 1991. It’s safe to say that it’s been one heck of a wild ride ever since.
He joined the General Hospital cast on a contractual basis as Jason Quartermaine that year. He stayed on the show until 2000, when he temporarily left to pursue other projects in the entertainment industry.
Steve Burton returned to General Hospital after a six-month absence and has been on and off the show ever since. In 2012, he switched gears and accepted a new role on the CBS soap The Young and the Restless.
Throughout his career, Steve has earned seven Daytime Emmy Award Nominations. He won two times in 1998 and in 2017 in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Both of his wins were definitely deserved!

It’s without a doubt that Steve’s fans have been enjoying each and every one of his scenes on General Hospital. We have a feeling that things are only going to get even more exciting, now that Jason and his on-again, off-again love interest Sam seem to be getting closer by the day.
