General Hospital Star Maurice Benard Lands New Exciting Role

Could this be the role that Maurice Benard was born to play? Well, it depends on who you ask. The actor, who is best known for his role as Sonny Corinthos on General Hospital, has just landed a new role as John Gotti in a film called The Victoria Gotti Story. How exciting!

According to reports, Maurice, who has been playing Port Charles’ mob boss for almost three decades now, will be playing a real-life mobster. In other words, this should be a piece of cake for him, considering that he’s been playing a similar character for so long now. The fan favorite actor recently shared the news on his Instagram account. Maurice simply wrote, “Thank you lifetime and everyone involved 4 a Beautiful opportunity.”

Of course, it didn’t take very long for his followers to respond, with a lot of them saying that the Jon Gotti role is a perfect fit for him. Some comments have included, “This is going to be exciting!! I love seeing you play something else. Your sooo good. I still remember you as Ricky Ricardo and I was blown away.”

Another fan wrote, “Such a huge opportunity, I can’t wait to see this. You yourself are an amazing actor. Congratulations!” along with, “Maurice you are going to be great in this movie an excellent actor.”

So far the Lifetime network has not made any additional comments about the project, but once details come in we will share all of them with you.
