General Hospital Star Hudson West Is Taking a Stand Against The R Word

General Hospital star Hudson West is taking a very important stand against the “R” word. The young actor, who plays Jake on the Port Charles soap, has joined the “Spread the Word to End The Word” campaign with the Special Olympics. By being a part of the campaign, Hudson is hoping to eliminate the disrespectful word from everyday use. And he’s reaching out to his fans for help.

The young thespian wrote on his Twitter account, “I pledge for inclusion and respect for all people. Do you?? I want you to take a stand and join me in eliminating the dehumanizing use of the r-word from everyday language. Take a stand to #endtheword today at http://r-word.org .”

Spread the word is not only a big event, or a signature on a pledge. According to Hudson and the campaign, it’s a commitment to “think about the language that you use daily.”

As you can imagine, young Hudson is getting plenty of support from his social media followers and fans! Quite a few fans have commented on his tweet with, “Just when I think I can’t adore U anymore, u do this. Your mom and dad are raising a wonderful young man! Thank you, @Hudsonwest1 from someone who works in special education.”

Another fan wrote, “Thank you for the enlightenment. I’m a senior citizen & was not aware of this movement. God bless you Hudson for your efforts. I think it’s a horrible word & should be banished. Kids & some adults use it too profusely.”
