General Hospital Star Chloe Lanier Explains Her Decision To Leave GH

It looks like this General Hospital star is taking her final bow. Actress Chloe Lanier is opening up about her decision to leave the show and what’s next for her in the entertainment world. Chloe is best known for her role as the villainous Nelle.

In a new interview with ABC Soaps in Depth, Chloe admits that her decision to leave General Hospital wasn’t an easy one, especially since her character Nelle has had such a riveting storyline. She managed to get pregnant with Michael’s baby and put her nemesis, Carly, in a mental institution. If that weren’t enough, she also managed to cause havoc for the entire Corinthos clan.

She told the publication, “Well, it has always been my intention to leave after two years, at the end of my contract. I’ve learned so much working on General Hospital. I’ve loved every second of it. I feel like after doing this, I can do anything, and that’s such a freeing feeling to have.”

If that weren’t enough, Chloe admits that her soap schedule has made it a little bit hard for her to pursue other opportunities in Hollywood.

She added, “I want to challenge myself in other ways and play other characters and possibly produce my own material. I want to have more time to do that and working four or five days on a soap, it’s hard to do. It was hard to audition because I was working so much.”
