General Hospital Spoilers: Carly’s Family Shocked & Horrified, The Verdict Is In

General Hospital spoilers tease that the verdict is now in for Carly (Laura Wright), as her trial wraps up and her fate stands determined by a judge.

Of course, it’s obvious that Carly didn’t push a pregnant Nelle (Chloe Lanier) down the stairs at her baby shower at the Quartermaine mansion. Nelle led everyone to believe that Carly is a vicious person who would do just about anything to take Nelle out of the picture.

But clearly, it’s the other way around. It’s Nelle who is plotting to not only destroy Carly’s life but to eliminate her altogether. After all, she’s the only person standing in Nelle’s way and her future for happiness with Michael (Chad Duell).

And now General Hospital co-writer Shelly Altman weighs in on the verdict, explaining that all of Carly’s loved ones are both shocked and horrified.

That’s because there’s a chance Carly might be sent to a state facility for the criminally insane. The only way she could get out of jail is if she proved to be a mentally unfit and insane person. Apparently, the strategy worked.

Shelly told ABC Soaps in Depth, “Carly’s loved ones are shocked and horrified. That sentiment doesn’t, of course, extend to the woman she’s been convicted of attempting to murder. Nelle privately revels in the fact that things have worked out even better than she could have imagined.”

Unfortunately for Carly, security is so tight at the state facility, that there will be no way out for her. It will be up to Sonny (Maurice Benard), Jason (Steve Burton), and Michael to find a way to get Carly out as soon as possible. Fans will just have to tune in to find out how!
