General Hospital Spoilers: Patricia Bethune Would Love To Stay in Port Charles!

Are fans going to be seeing more of Nurse Mary Pat in the future? According to actress Patricia Bethune, that’s what she would like to see! In fact, the actress recently said that she is hoping to stay on General Hospital as a full-time character as she has been having so much fun playing her role as the wicked nurse who has been making Carly’s (Laura Wright) life utter hell at Ferncliff.

Speaking to ABC Soaps in Depth, Patricia says that while she doesn’t know what’s in store for her character’s future, she is hoping for a new Ferncliff twist in the coming weeks.

Patricia told the publication, “I haven’t had many opportunities to play evil and I am having a wonderful time.”

And while there’s no doubt that there are as many fans who love Nurse Mary Pat as much as they hate her, the actress says there’s a reason why she is so harsh towards Carly. It’s not because she doesn’t like her, it’s simply because she doesn’t know the truth.

“Well, Mary Pat doesn’t know Carly is innocent,” she argued. “She believes Carly threw a pregnant woman down the stairs. the dislike has to do with the pushback from Carly and how much extra time it takes to control her within Mary Pat’s world.”
