The General Hospital rumor mill is in overdrive, and some GH fans are convinced that the casting call is a recast for Paevey’s popular character Nathan West.

Sure, Nathan’s casket is being lowered in to the ground at the Port Charles cemetery, but long time viewers know that death is just a minor inconvenience on the daytime drama and almost never permanent.Is it possible Nathan’s death was faked and he’s still alive and will return soon with a new face?
Anything is possible, but we’re pretty sure that if the soap was going to do a huge recast like that, they would keep it under wraps, not release the casting call to the public. And, after an entire week dedicated to Nathan’s emotional death, the odds of them bringing the character back that soon are pretty slim.

More than likely, the casting call for a Port Charles officer is totally unrelated to Nathan. After all, the PCPD is probably short-staffed after his untimely death.
