The pregnant actress revealed that her mother has fallen ill with the flu, and is very sick. Marcil’s mother was so ill that she couldn’t open her door to let her family members in to help her, so Vanessa’s family contacted the police to help them get in.

Marcil wrote on Instagram, “Thank you, Officer Suarez and the entire Indio Police Department and paramedics for getting into my mom’s house today so quickly to help her. We had a real scare last night and going into today. Where would we be without our men and women of service? You are our heroes.”
