General Hospital spoilers indicate that even though fans have had to say good-bye to Nathan West, this might not be the last good-bye forever. In fact, actor Ryan Paevey, who plays Nathan on the hit daytime series, even said that his character will be gone just “for now.”

Fans got to see one last heart-wrenching scene between Ryan and his wife, Maxie (Kirsten Storms). Maxie got to bid her husband farewell after he felt their baby move inside her for the first time. Unfortunately, it might be the first and last time that Ryan will be able to connect with his future baby. He was then shot and killed by his father, Faison. At least, that’s what it seemed like.
“I love you, Maxie. Like there’s no tomorrow.”

Either way, it was a very emotional episode for viewers. Ryan later had this to say on Twitter right after the episode aired: “Okay guys, so to get this one out of the way…for now, yes, Nathan West will be gone.”
Ryan had said earlier that it was his decision to leave General Hospital. The actor wants to pursue bigger and better projects but at the same time is open to returning to Port Charles in the future. For now though, his main focus will be action movies and hopefully making more Hallmark made-for-TV films.
But as many soap opera fans know, if someone is gone now, that doesn’t mean that he or she will be gone forever. And in Port Charles dead just means dead for now. We wouldn’t be surprised if Nathan does end up coming back to Port Charles in some form in the future. It’s happened before and it will definitely happen again.
