General Hospital Maurice Benard Introduces New Family Member

General Hospital star Maurice Benard has some very exciting news to share with his fans. The handsome actor, who is best known for his role as Sonny on the hit ABC soap, has just introduced his newest member of his family.

According to Maurice’s Instagram account, his son Joshua James has a new fur baby! The proud father shared a photo of Joshua with the adorable addition and captioned it with, “A boy and his new dog dogs name is Dakota named after a beautiful young man.”

Of course, it didn’t take fans very long to comment and congratulate Maurice on his newest family member. Some fans wrote, “Congrats on your beautiful new Shepherd! We have two…fabulous breed and really bond with whole family!” along with, “Love, fun, respect for animals, responsibility, strong immune system; is there anything a puppy can’t do? He’s adorable. Congratulations!”

It was not too long ago that Maurice shared the news that his previous dog, who passed away several weeks ago. The General Hospital actor had called him his best friend in life. He wrote on Instagram, “Sometimes life throws you a curve ball well life through me a home run. He was my partner my best friend and he was my buddy. Rest in peace my sweet boy.”

Congratulations to Maurice and his entire family on their newest family member, Dakota. We can’t wait to see more photos of him in the future.
