General Hospital Jon Lindstrom Dishes About Ryan and His Fascination With Ava

General Hospital’s (GH) Jon Lindstrom joined the ABC soap in 1992 as Ryan. He recently explained to ABC Soaps In Depth, that he was shocked that they kept him as Kevin. Imagine his surprise when they told him decades later that he would play Ryan again. Even though it was a shock at first, he reveals that it was a welcome change and he was glad to have an exciting storyline.

Jon said that after all these years, he had no idea how much he missed playing Ryan. He recalls that Genie Francis (Laura) asked him if he was going to miss playing Ryan when his episodes are over. He said after thinking about it, he will miss him. He admits that is weird to say out loud, considering that Ryan is a serial killer.

Lindstrom said that Ryan isn’t the typical villain. He is multi-layered, which adds to his appeal. He gives credit to the writers for being able to write him as an intelligent serial killer. He adds that is not an easy task.

Has He Met His Match?

Besides Kevin, the only person he drops his guard down is with Ava (Maura West). Ryan is desperate to find a partner in crime, and in many ways, he feels as if he found that with Ava. He believes she understands him in a way no one ever has.

The question seems to be, what will Ava do when she figures out how dangerous Ryan is. Will she run from him or will she draw closer to him? Knowing Ava, it will only pique her curiosity and it will give them a deeper bond. We’ll soon find out what the future holds for Ava and Ryan.
