By now we know that General Hospital Executives apparently love the fan wars that have been going on for years. Let’s look at some of the couples and their fan wars and see what the show accomplishes by feeding them.
Liason Vs Jasam
This war has been going on for years. The powers that be never wrote Liz (Rebecca Herbst) accepting Jason’s (Steve Burton) life no matter what the man tried to do. Regardless of the arguments of several fans, Liz always chose someone over Jason.
There was Zander, Rick, Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) all of which fit with her character better than Jason did. Liason was never really put together as a couple except when they were sneaking around after Jake was born. When they were together it was stolen moments at a safe house outside of town because Jason was trying to protect Elizabeth and her kids.

When Jake was kidnapped by the Russians and almost killed, Liz decided that she could not care about Jason because it wasn’t safe and that ended their relationship. Liz then reunited with Lucky and the tried to manipulate Jason into a divorce in 2012.
Liason fans still want this story told although GH decided not to go with them as a couple and the war with Jasam fans still carries on to this day.
Jasam Vs Dream (or SaD as I Prefer to Call Them)
Jason and Sam (Kelly Monaco) began living together in 2004 and officially began dating in 2005. They were together until Sam was shot in 2006 and Alexis guilted Jason into breaking up with her. Sam and Jason decided to get back together after Sam slept with Ric while drunk and Jason had a one-night stand with Liz.
After reuniting they were together until 2007 after Sam watched Jake get kidnapped and hired men to scare Liz and the kids. Yes, Jason threatened to kill her we all know that, but he never did anything to hurt her.
Sam and Jason reunited in 2009 after she saved Jake from the Russians and saved Jason from Jerry Jax. Sam and Jason were finally married in 2011 and split up because of Heather Webber in 2012, however, they were reunited before he disappeared after being shot.
Sam and Drew, (Billy Miller) on the other hand, had no real emotional connection, they were friends. When Carly had a DNA test was done that said Drew was Jason, he wanted no part of it and wanted to divorce Sam to marry Liz.
Drew also called Sam a liar and refused to believe her when she told him Liz had known of his supposed identity for months. All of this AFTER he actually went to her house to kill her and Patrick. When Sam and Drew got together it was only after Sam proved that Liz lied and based on the fact they thought he was Jason.
Drew and Sam’s relationship was based on Jasam history up until Jason Morgan came to town. So how do a few months compare to years of history? Why do the powers that be insist on keeping this feud going? Why do we need any kind of triangle when Sam has already admitted that she still loves Jason?
It is obvious that keeping the so-called triangle is not needed and neither would another triangle with Liason either.
