General Hospital Comings And Goings: A Fan Favorite Heading Back to GH

A lot of General Hospital viewers have noticed that they haven’t seen James DePaiva’s character, Dr. Bensch in quite some time. Luckily, we have the answers that many fans are looking for. General Hospital spoilers indicate that Dr. Bensch won’t be sitting on the backburner for very long as he’s expected back in Port Charles very soon.

Fans were excited to see James DePaiva as Dr. Bensch, but unfortunately, he didn’t get much screen time. The 60-year-old actor, who used to star in One Life to Live, hasn’t been seen in over two months. Some have even expressed their concern over the lack of action for the doctor and assumed that his character won’t be back. But according to General Hospital’s showrunners, there’s a good reason for his absence.

As it turns out, James has simply been a little busy with his side projects. In fact, General Hospital exec Frank Valentini explains that James hasn’t been sidelined, but instead busy with his New York City production of Chasing Jack.

Frank told ABC Soaps in Depth, “Jimmy was doing a play for a short time. So we didn’t have him for a bit. But now that we have him back, you’ll see some Bensch-ing.”

Unfortunately, Frank Valentini refuses to divulge in any further details for Dr. Bensch. Although, he did say that Dr. Bensch might be just as good as he seems. He added, “So far, you can see he treats Alexis well, and she’s drawn to that.” Of course, fans will just have to tune in to see what will happen next. Stay tuned!
