General Hospital Alum Robert Palmer Watkins Books New Series Set To Debut Valentine's Day

General Hospital alum Robert Palmer Watkins’, who used to play Dillon on the hit daytime soap, is taking center stage in a new, exciting primetime series. He plays the titular role in the highly anticipated CW series, Cupid’s Match.

The supernatural romance follows Lila, a teenager who is contacted by The Cupids MatchMaking Service. She finds out that her perfect match is Cupid himself.

It looks like Robert is very excited about his new role. It’s his opportunity to show the world that he’s got what it takes to become a primetime television star. Thankfully, it looks like the stars are aligned in his favor. He told ABC Soaps in Depth, “Based on reaction from the first episode, they’re going to decide when they want to shoot the rest of the season. But it’s looking really good!”

Yet, Robert does admit that it feels a little odd to be playing the love interest of a high schooler. For him, he’s been there, done that several years ago! He added, “I feel like I’m a little old to be playing high school, but it works because Cupid is over a thousand years old. So there’s room for age flexibility when he has to go back to high school to find this math that he’s been set up with.”
