Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Who REALLY Shot Marlena?

Days of Our Lives’ Sami (Alison Sweeney) might have held the gun, but she didn’t fire it.  The weapon went off after Eric (Greg Vaughan) grabbed her. So why is Sami Brady the only one to blame for Marlena’s shooting?

Sami Was Arguing Not To Shoot Anyone

Although Sami was holding a gun on John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall), she hadn’t offered to shoot it.  Sami was under the influence of drugs. Honestly, Sami could not have hit the broad side of a barn.

Days of Our Lives’ Sami was utterly distraught over the revelation that E.J. (Ex James Scott) is supposed to be alive.  Sami is very shaken. Yes, Sami wanted Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) to take her to E.J. However, Sami had made no move to shoot anyone.

Should Eric Have Waited?

Eric assumed that Sami was going to shoot John.  Eric tried to help by grabbing the gun. Sami swears she didn’t fire the weapon.  The most logical explanation is that Eric caused the gun to go off. Sami didn’t voluntarily pull the trigger, but the shock of being grabbed could have caused it.

Imagine standing dazed and confused and someone grabbing your arm. Your first reaction is to tense up. When your arm tenses up, you are automatically going to squeeze the trigger.  It would be an involuntary reflexive reaction.

What If Eric Hadn’t Grabbed The Gun?

If Eric hadn’t grabbed Sami, she likely would not have shot anyone.  Kristen had Sami so drugged that she probably would have collapsed again.  John could have talked Sami down. Marlena could have talked Sami down. Kristen should have been the person tackled.  Kristen should have been taken out at all cost.

Why Is Eric Not Defending Sami?

Why is Eric not admitting to the fact that he grabbed the gun?  Eric should be standing up to Belle and telling her to back off Sami.  Eric should be pointing out the fact that he could have been wrong. If Eric was going to grab Sami, why not take her to the floor?  Instead of tackling Sami he moved the gun. I understand that half the town have issues with Sami but at least look at the whole picture.

Could The Gun Have Been Rigged?

Sami believes the gun was rigged to go off.  Could Kristen have rigged gun? Could Kristen have shot and it just looked like Sami did it?  Should we not be checking for gunpowder residue? It honestly seems that Eric should have questioned just as well.  Sami is vindictive but not this cruel. Rafe (Galen Gering) needs to investigate a little further.
