Actor Freddie Smith, who plays Sonny on the soap, tells Soaps in Depth in a new interview, “He just reunited with Will. He sees his future with him. It’s what he’s been dreaming about. But at the end of the day, Leo has such leverage over Sonny and Will that their hands are tied. Sonny doesn’t want to go to prison. He doesn’t want Will to get in trouble. He doesn’t want to leave Ari without a parent, again. He doesn’t want Titan to be affected. Marrying Leo is the best way for this to be resolved. There’s no alternative.”

If that weren’t enough, DOOL spoilers indicate Freddie also adds that Leo is taking great delight in Sonny’s decision. He’s smiling because he knows that he’s holding all the cards in this situation.
