Hope and Rafe have dessert at Doug’s place and learn that Ciara (Vivian Jovanni) lied about spending the day with her grandparents. Hope looks into her daughter’s whereabouts and learns she was with Ben (Robert Scott Wilson). Of course, an argument breaks out. Ciara insists nothing is going on with Ben. Hope leaves and suddenly Ted grabs her and informs her he just returned to Salem.
Hope doesn’t know Ted is dirty. All she knows is Ted is asking for protection from Stefan (Tyler Christopher) and Kate (Lauren Koslow). He did something bad and now he’s paying the price for it. Since he was away from Salem against his own will, he needs Hope’s help.

Ted asks her not to tell Rafe, which is something she is not comfortable with. She tells him she cannot get involved. Ted points out that he saw Ben kissing Ciara, to which, Hope unravels. She knew something was going on between them and believes she cannot stop it. She honestly believes Ciara is in danger.
Hope agrees to help him, but she needs something from him. He has to give her all the information he has on Ben. She takes pity on him because dealing with Kate and Stefan is not easy. And. Ben is a hot button for her as she desperately wants to protect her daughter from him.
