Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: The Battle For Tate Begins But At What Cost?

The custody battle for Tate (Colin and Kyle Schroeder) begins on Days of Our Lives this week and Theresa (Jen Lilley) needs all the support she can get. Days of Our Lives spoilers say that J.J. (Casey Moss) is by her side, will he be enough to help Theresa get custody of her son?

The Abandonment Card

It’s obvious that Brady (Eric Martsolf) is going to claim that Theresa abandoned Tate. Theresa left with Mateo (Andoni Gracia) to save Brady and Tate’s lives, both Victor (John Aniston) and Shane (Charles Shaughnessy) are aware of this. By now the better part of Salem knows why she left and whether Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) wants to admit it or not, she knows that too.

Theresa could subpoena Chloe who would have to commit perjury if she didn’t want to help Theresa because Chloe was kidnapped by Mateo herself. Victor hates Eve more than he used to hate Theresa, he will obviously side with her as well. As unfair as it might be, Shane would have to take Theresa’s side as well, therefore, at least in Eve’s (Kassie DePaiva) eyes, he would be choosing Theresa. In any event, abandonment can easily be disproven.

Theresa Doesn’t Have A Home

Theresa is staying with J.J. in his efficiency apartment right now, she has no place of her own and she just started her job with Bella so right now she has no money. J.J. has money, a steady job and the means to get Theresa a place or moved into a larger apartment with her. J.J. also has first-hand knowledge of Eve and her devious ways.

How can any fan forget Eve and J.J.’s torrid affair, especially when he was dating her daughter? Eve is a master manipulator and even used blackmail to try and keep J.J. and Paige (True O’Brien) apart. J.J. still blames Eve for separating he and Paige and the fact that Ben killed her doesn’t help that. In J.J.’s eyes, Paige would still be alive if they had been together and Eve kept them apart.

Theresa’s Past Is Bound To Be Brought Up

Theresa’s drug us is sure to be brought up in this battle because as Brady and Eve stand together, they will do everything they can to discredit her. However, .J.J. turned his life around and he used drugs with Theresa, Brady is a recovering addict as well and has fallen off the wagon more recently than Theresa.

Brady’s health could also be an issue because after Miguel (Phillip Anthony-Rodriguez) drugged him, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) made it plain that she didn’t know if Brady would fully recover. Brady is out of the hospital and has been fine so far, but that doesn’t mean problems would arise in the future. Both are sure to pull out all the stops to get custody of Tate and both are likely to be extremely hurt by the other’s efforts.

It’s a shame that Brady and Theresa can’t work together and come up with a suitable custody agreement instead of battling it out over the child they both love.
