Days of Our Lives – Should Eric Be The One To Raise Baby Holly?

Some Days of Our Lives fans are in an uproar over Eric (Greg Vaughan) being anywhere close to Holly and certainly don’t agree with him raising her. However, Nicole (Arianne Zucker) is the one who asked Eric to raise her child, why should her wishes be ignored?

Yes Eric Killed Daniel on Days Of Our Lives

We all know that Eric is the one who killed Daniel (Shawn Christian). However, it was an accident. That in no way excuses drunk driving, but the man went to prison for his death. Eric paid his debt to society and Daniel was a very forgiving man.

I cannot imagine Daniel not wanting the person Nicole chose to raise their child not to raise her. Daniel and Eric were not enemies. Daniel trusted Nicole’s judgment. Daniel would have been fine with Nicole and Eric being together if that was her choice. Daniel would want Nicole’s wish granted.

Nicole Forgave Eric

Nicole was angry with Eric, rightfully so for a long time over Daniel’s death. Nicole made peace with Eric and admitted she still loved him. Nicole was torn away from Eric because of Brady (Eric Martsolf) or she would have been with him today.

If Brady had not blackmailed Nicole, she would not have been anywhere near Nashville. Nicole and Eric would have likely been married instead of her having to try to escape Xander (Paul Telfer). Eric would have already been Holly’s father figure if Nicole had not been forced to leave town.

DOOL Spoilers – Holly Is Bonding With Eric

Holly is all that Eric believes he has left of Nicole and they are bonding. Holly is beginning to trust Eric and to expect him to be there for her. Nicole wanted Eric and Holly to be close, so why shouldn’t they be? Why should anyone have the right to tell Eric he cannot be close to the child he and Nicole planned to raise together?

Chloe Certainly Should Not Have Holly

Chloe has no right to Holly at all. She did nothing but use that baby as a weapon against Nicole and tried to keep them apart. Chloe didn’t care that Nicole was Holly’s mother. Chloe didn’t care that Daniel would want Nicole to have their child. All she wanted was to claim a baby that isn’t hers to control Nicole’s choices. Chloe is the last person who should have that baby.

Maggie Is Too Old To Raise A Toddler

Maggie has no business raising Holly either. Nicole was in contact with Maggie all the time but never once asked her to raise Holly if something happened to her. Nicole knew that Maggie was not a young woman and did not need to be raising a toddler. If Nicole had wanted Maggie to raise her, she would have sent her to Maggie.

Nicole was the only surviving parent, and her wishes should be the only ones considered here. Eric would never keep Holly away from her family. Eric would never intentionally hurt Holly. Eric was Nicole’s choice to raise her, and he should be able to do that for Nicole.
