Days of Our Lives RECAP, Wednesday, August 8: Hope Demands Marlena Send Ben Back To Shadyhills

On today’s Days of Our Lives,  Hope (Kristian Alfonso) shows up at Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) office.  Marlena is glad Hope is coming to the wedding.

Hope And Marlena Can’t See Eye To Eye

Hope promises things won’t improve unless Marlena puts Ben away.  Hope urges Marlena to send Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) back to Shadyhills.  Marlena asks if something else has happened with Ben.  Hope tells Marlena she has no doubt Ben set that fire.

Marlena tells Hope she’s sure Ben didn’t set the fire.  Marlena had been in therapy.  Marlena tells Hope what Ben remembered.  Marlena’s professional opinion is not going to change.  Hope leaves Marlena’s office.

Marlena Convinces Chad He Will Love Abby’s Baby

Days of Our Lives’ Chad (Billy Flynn) comes in and needs to talk to Marlena. Chad doesn’t think he can accept this baby.  Chad questions if he’s making this about him.  Marlena tells Chad he needs to talk about his feelings.

Chad questions if Abby (Marci Miller) loves Stefan (Tyler Christopher) since Gabby (Marci Miller) did.  Chad wishes he could stop thinking about walking in on Abby with Stefan.  Marlena advises Chad to open his heart to the baby. Marlena thinks Chad will be a wonderful father.

Ben And Tripp Clash Over Ciara

Days of Our Lives’ Tripp (Lucas Adams) answers the door to Ben.  Ciara (Victoria Konefal) asks why the hell Ben is there again. Ben tells Ciara he’s sure he didn’t start the fire. Ciara wants to hear what Ben has to say.  Ben tells Ciara that Marlena hypnotized him.  Ben tells Ciara he remembers everything. Tripp tells Ben he and Ciara are together.

Tripp threatens to call the police.  Ben reminds Ciara about Tripp and Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan).  Tripp can’t believe Ciara told Ben.  Tripp is upset that Ciara talked to Ben. Ben advises Ciara not to do something she will regret.  Tripp tells Ciara he shouldn’t have answered the door.  Trip asks he and Ciara can pick up where they left off.

Gabi Has Second Thoughts

Days of Our Lives’  Chad and Gabi are talking. Gabi is there if Chad needs her.  Chad thinks Gabi is amazing.  J.J. walks up asks what the hell this is.  Gabi tells J.J. it’s not what it looks like.  J.J. apologizes. J.J. is worried about Abby.

Chad gets a reminder about an appointment.  J.J. warns Gabi against getting close to Chad again.  J.J. and Gabi talk about what’s happened to her lately.  J.J. tries to help Gabi.   Gabi asks how J.J. is.  J.J. will be there for Gabi if needed.

Stefan Wants To Attend Abby’s Appointment

Days of Our Lives’ Stefan shows up at Abby’s. Abby tries to slam the door in Stefan’s face.  Stefan wants to talk about the baby.  Abby tells Stefan he got what he wanted.  Abby says she and Chad are raising the baby. Stefan wants to be at Abby ultrasound appointment.  Stefan tells Abby she can’t cut him out of the baby’s life.

Abby tells Stefan until this baby is born he’s not doing anything.  Stefan tells Abby she sounds like Gabby and she slaps him. Stefan tells Abby he will be there if Chad isn’t.  Abby tells Stefan she knows he’s trying to come between her and Chad. The baby kicks and Abby double over.  Abby sits down, Stefan tries to feel the baby.  Abby pushes Stefan away.  Stefan wants to feel the baby move.  Chad comes in and sees Stefan touching Abby’s stomach.

Eli Kisses Lani

Days of Our Lives’ Eli (Lamon Archey) is on his bed when Lani (Sal Stowers) knocks on the door.  Lani got copies of the baby’s death certificate.  Lani says she’s doing good most of the time.  Lani hates feeling sorry for herself.  Lani is sorry the baby didn’t survive.  Lani apologizes for being emotional.  Eli hopes the baby changed him.

Eli and Lani kiss.  Lani questions what Eli is doing.  Lani tells Eli sex with him was the worst night of her life.  Lani says sleeping together was a mistake, the baby wasn’t.  Eli was trying to comfort them both and apologizes.  Lani says they need to rest and leaves.   Eli looks at the death certificate with tears in his eyes.  J.J. (Casey Moss) sees Lani crying and takes her in his arms.

Hope Doesn’t Like Rafe’s Assessment

Days of Our Lives’ Rafe (Galin Gering) tells Hope he has run into a dead end.  Hope thinks Rafe is giving up too soon.  Rafe suggests closing the case. Rafe can encourage Ben to leave town.  Rafe wants to take a walk but Hope refuses.   Hope and Rafe decide on dinner tonight. Hope calls Ben to the police department.
