Days of Our Lives RECAP Wednesday, August 22: Marlena’s Nightmare And Voodoo Dolls

Days of Our Lives’ Wednesday August 22 episode recap begins with John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) wedding.

A Rude Awakening

Steve (Stephen Nichols) wants to talk to Kayla (Mary Beth Evans).  John insists that Steve wait. Abe (James Reynolds) refuses to let Valerie (Vanessa Williams) sing.  Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Eric (Greg Vaughan) walk Marlena down the aisle.  Abe begins the ceremony.  Abe jokes about an interruption.

John and Marlena say their I dos.  Roman (Josh Taylor) interrupts claiming to be the real John Black.  Roman names off all of John’s names.  Marlena chooses Roman, then announces she’s Hattie (Deidre Hall).  Marlena wakes up screaming no.

Susan (Stacy Haiduk) appears in Marlena’s room. Marlena wants to know what Susan wants. Susan and Marlena talk about Kristin (Stacy Haiduk).  Susan says she saw her at the hospital.  Susan says she saw Kristin on New Year’s Eve.  Susan says it was hazy as if it was a cloud.  Susan swears Kristin is alive.

Roman Isn’t Attending The Wedding

Days of Our Lives Eric comes to the pub.  Roman wants to make him breakfast.  Roman refuses to go to the wedding. Eric thinks he’s hung up on Marlena.  Roman just wants the day to be about John and Marlena. Eric tells Roman that Susan is back in town.

Valerie Covers John’s Black Eye

Days of Our Lives Brady and everyone else is with John trying to cover his black eye.   John says he can’t get married this way. Abe decides they need help.  Abe goes to make a call.  Abe calls Valerie to help with John’s eye.  Valerie did a plastic surgery rotation but needs help. Brady shows up with the makeup bag.

Valerie and John go to do his makeup. Brady doesn’t want Susan at the wedding.  John comes out and his eye looks great.  John calls Marlena and inquires about Susan being at the wedding. Marlena tells John that Susan is fine.

Shawn Trusts Claire’s Judgement

Days of Our Lives Belle (Martha Madison) and Shawn (Brandon Beemer) show up at the loft.  They know about Ben (Robert Scott Wilson).  Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) defends Ben and tells them it’s her choice. Belle tells Shawn to talk to Claire. Belle joins Kayla and Valerie.  Belle says Shawn is not happy that Ben is at the loft. Shawn tells Claire that he knows she is an adult.  Shawn knows Claire can make her own decisions.  Claire says she will always be his little girl.

Kayla Is Nervous About The Wedding

Valerie and Kayla are talking about Marlena’s doll.  Kayla tells Valerie she wishes Susan hadn’t brought the cards.  Valerie says the wedding will go off without a hit.  They discuss Steve and Kayla’s wedding.  Valerie talks about how inspiring Steve and Kayla are.  Kayla is in tears.  Valerie asks what is wrong. Belle and Kayla go to Marlena’s room.  Susan agrees that the drugs could have made her see Kristin.

Kayla stops Susan from talking about the lover’s card.  Kayla sends Susan to work on centerpieces.  Brady shows up to get Valerie’s makeup bag.  John has sent Marlena a gift.  A wedding band charm for her bracelet. Marlena tells Belle and Kayla that Susan is harmless.

Someone Stabs Doll Marlena

Days of Our Lives Susan finishes with the tables.  Susan stumbles upon the doll she sent Marlena. Susan picks up the doll and talks to it.  Susan believes Marlena should treasure the doll.  Susan thought Marlena cared about her.   Someone has stabbed the Marlena doll in the back.
