Days of Our Lives RECAP Tuesday, June 19: Kayla Announces Lani Lost Her Baby

“Days Of Our Lives” (DOOL) recap for Monday, June 18, 2018, Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin), Lucas (Bryan Dattilo), Jennifer (Melissa Reeves), and Eric (Greg Vaughan) are at the pub celebrating Lucas’ sobriety.

The Hortons Prepare For The Baby

Chloe informs them Parker (Christian Ganiere) has decided to stay with her parents for the summer. J.J. (Casey Moss) arrives at the pub, he’s picking up food to take back to the hospital. J.J. tells Jennifer and she, Eric, Lucas, and Chloe all go back with him.

Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Doug (Bill Hayes) show up at the hospital as well. Julie wants to know if Eli (Lamon Archey) and Lani (Sal Stowers) will live together. Eli tells Julie that Lani keeps him at arm’s length.

Eli tells everyone he needs space. Eli is really scared and doesn’t like feeling that way in front of a crowd. Lucas tells him he will get used to it. Everyone starts to leave, Eli calls them back, he wants his child raised in a family like this. J.J. tells Jennifer he’s making Eli uncomfortable and wants to leave.

Jennifer thinks Lani would want J.J. to stay. Eli thanks J.J., he did what anyone else would do. Eli tells J.J. he did everything that he should have done. Eli wants J.J. to be a part of this baby’s life. Eric goes to Abe (James Reynolds) and asks if there is anything he can do, they talk about Theo (Kyle Pettis) and Lani’s c-section, he feels something is wrong.

Julie asks Eric to lead them in a prayer, they all join hands and pray. Kayla comes out and tells them they almost lost Lani, she’s stable now, but hasn’t regained consciousness.

Valerie Offers To Scrub In For Surgery

Days Of Our Lives’ Valerie (Vanessa Williams) and Abe show up at Doug’s place and want to schedule Lani’s baby shower, they think she has plenty of time for it. Julie and Valerie decide on a date, Doug says this is what they need right now.

Abe talks about how bad he treated Doug and Julie last year, he says he was wrong and apologizes. Julie and Doug forgive him, his family. Abe’s phone rings, its J.J., Lani has to have a c-section now. Abe and Valerie head to the hospital. Abe and Valerie show up and see Lani before surgery.

Abe looks forward to spoiling the baby, he hopes the baby makes Lani as proud as she does him. Valerie offers to scrub in and stay during the surgery, she congratulates Abe and Eli and leaves.

Abe and Eli wait together for the surgery, J.J. looks lost and leaves. Abe tells Eli that he trusts he won’t walk away from Lani and the baby, he assures Abe he won’t.

Kayla Prepares Lani For The Baby

Days Of Our Lives’ Kayla tells Lani she is still bleeding and they have to do that C-section now, Lani refuses. J.J. and Eli look on and both beg her to sign the papers. Kayla tells Lani the baby has a 90% chance of survival, waiting is a risk to the baby. J.J. tells her he understands but she’s not superwoman, Eli tells they need her here, she agrees and signs.

Kayla does and ultrasound, the baby looks good. Kayla tells Eli he can’t be in the delivery room, he hates feeling useless. J.J. tells Lani he called Abe and he and Valerie are on the way. Lani thanks J.J. and is moved to the OR. Lani will be awake for the surgery, Valerie arrives in the OR. Kayla tells Lani what is going to happen with the baby and how quickly she will see the baby.

Lani Dreams Of What Might Have Been

On Days of Our Lives’ the surgery begins, Kayla tells Lani that Joey was a 26-week baby and he was fine. Lani says she feels funny and Valerie calls for blood.

Lani’s blood pressure begins to drop and we see her head toward the light. Kayla is telling Lani to stay with them. Lani relives Kayla telling her she’s pregnant. Lani and Kayla talk about the baby changing things with her and J.J. Lani let J.J. feel the baby move, Eric and Jennifer walk up with a baby gift.

J.J. and Lani are engaged in her vision. Lani comes to a squeezes Kayla’s hand. Kayla says let’s meet your baby. Lani is losing a lot of blood in the OR and she goes out again. Lani sees the baby shower and Eli comes in and tells her about Gabi, he’s afraid she might tell J.J. J.J. confronts Lani about Gabi’s phone call, J.J. is furious, Eli tries to explain what happened.

J.J. remembers what happened that night, he doesn’t hate her, he has no right to judge her. Eli tells J.J. he’s being decent, Lani and the baby are all that matter and Lani goes into labor.   Valerie yells they need to get the baby out, Lani is crashing. Lani is bleeding out on the table and dreams of J.J and Kayla delivering the baby at her shower.

Lani goes into the light and crashes while Kayla is still trying to get the baby. The doctors are working on Lani doing CPR, still no baby. Valerie is setting with Lani in recovery. Lani dreams that J.J. walks in and something is wrong with the delivery, she thinks the baby didn’t survive.

A nurse brings J.J the baby and he shows Lani their son. Valerie gets up to leave and looks at the baby’s footprints, she breaks down and cries before leaving the room. Meanwhile, Kayla is in the waiting area telling the family that the baby didn’t survive.
