Days Of Our Lives RECAP Thursday, August 23: Sami Crashes Marlena’s Wedding

Days of Our Lives’ Thursday August 23 recap begins with John (Drake Hogestyn) and Steve (Steven Nichols) are at the square.  

The Wedding Begins

Steve is teasing John about his make-up. Steve wonders if John is nervous. John vows not to screw this up.  Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Eric (Greg Vaughan) join them. Eve (Kassie DePaiva) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) have words.  Brady and Eric separate them. Abe (James Reynolds) says they need to get started. Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) beings to sing.  Kayla (Marybeth Evans) walks up the aisle. Kayla tells Steve she loves him. Kayla says they need to talk after the wedding.

Marlena (Deidre Hall) starts up the aisle. Eric and Brady escort her to John.  Marlena tells John he’s handsome even with the shiner. Abe beings to talk, it is his pleasure to join John and Marlena in holy matrimony. John and Marlena have written their own vows. Marlena knows John supports her.  She talks about love stories. Marlena refers to love as a leap of faith. Marlena falls for John every day. Marlena vows to be with John for every day until she dies. John talks about how lucky he is to have Marlena. Marlena is always on his mind.

John always wants to be by her side. John will always remind Marlena she is stuck with him. John wants their world to settle down. John and Marlena kiss. Abe asks for the rings. Steve provides them. John puts Marlena ring on her finger. Marlena starts to say “I do” when Sami interrupts.

Marlena Is Missing

Days of Our Lives’ Abe tells John they can’t find the bride.  Hope (Kristian Alfonso) is in Chicago, Marlena isn’t with her.  John tries to call Marlena. Valerie (Vanessa Williams) tells them the car had a flat.  Valerie tells John she got Marlena there.

Paul Speaks At The Wedding

Days of Our Lives’ Will (Chandler Massey) comes up on Susan (Stacy Haiduk).  Will asks if Susan is ok. Susan brings up Will and Sonny’s wedding. Will offers to escort Susan to the wedding.  Susan cries during the wedding. Will gets up and does a reading. Will talks about his lack of memory. Will realizes that love isn’t tied to the past. Marlena gave Will courage and thanks, Marlena and John.  

Will has a memory of his and Sonny’s wedding. Marlena asks if Will is ok. Will tells John and Marlena that he loves them. Paul (Christopher Sean) asks Will what’s wrong. Will goes to get a drink. Paul does his reading.  Paul teases John about getting hit.

Will Remembers His Wedding

Days of Our Lives’ Paul gets a call, Will is on the way.  Claire takes everyone’s phones. Susan takes them from Claire.  Paul and Will kiss. Will tries to calm himself down. Memories of the wedding keep coming to him. Will has to sit down.  Will is crying, this is crazy. Will continues to remember more. Will turns around and Sonny is there.

Sonny Talk To Roman About Will

Days of Our Lives’ Sonny (Freddie Smith) is remembering his wedding to Will.  Sonny is visibly upset. Sonny continues to reminisce. Sonny goes to the Pub. Sonny talks to Roman (Josh Taylor) about Will. Sonny tells Roman about his confession to Will. Sonny says Will is all about Paul.  Sonny is repeating his vows to Will’s picture.

Roman comes back and joins Sonny. Roman tells Sonny how beautiful his and Will’s relationship was. Roman thanks Sonny for opening his eyes. Sonny says he blew it, he just let Will go.  Sonny wonders what the hell he was thinking. Sonny remembers more of their vows. Will remembers them as well. Will repeats his vows as he remembers.
