Coronation Street’s Gemma Winter Gets A Blast From The Past This Christmas

“Coronation Street’s” Gemma Winter is up for a surprise this Christmas, as reported by Digital Spy. Gemma is played by Dolly-Rose Campbell, who was recently awarded as the Funnies Female in 2018 by the Inside Soap Awards. She will be in for a massive shock that will help viewers understand why she is what she is. Gemma has been through a lot this year, and that includes getting her heart broken—twice!

The ITV Soap revealed that a lot of things will happen to Gemma over the holiday season. Exciting things will happen and viewers can expect to see a different side to Gemma. She even hinted that her character will have “a bit of a blast from the past, which is quite revealing.” Different elements to Gemma’s character will be shown and all these will explain her personality.

What could this “blast from the past” be? The last time Gemma had one was when Henry bought the Rovers Return and professes his love for her. It may sound really sweet, but it didn’t work out quite well for both of them. Her whirlwind romance was not the fairy tale she expected it to be.

Meanwhile, Gemma and Chesney Brown clearly have a feeling for each other. However, they never got the chance to be together because of some misunderstandings and missed opportunities. They are both dating different people; Gemma is with Spike while Chesney is with Emma, even though they know who they would rather be with.

Despite all the disappointments she’s been through, Dolly-Rose Campbell said that her character is loved by a lot of viewers because she always sees the good things even when facing awful situations. Viewers can relate to the character because most, if not all, have someone in their life who is just like her.
