Coronation Street Spoilers: Suranne Jones Returning To Weatherfield?

It looks like fans might be seeing a familiar face in Weatherfield real soon! As a matter of fact, new Coronation Street spoilers say that actress Suranne Jones might be joining the cast once again. The actress left the show over 14 years ago and is looking to reprise her role as Karen McDonald.

Of course, if Suranne does make her way back to Weatherfield, this might not be good news for Steve McDonald. (Simon Gregson) After all, he dumped her on Boxing Day back in 2004. If Karen does make her way back, there’s a good chance that she might get her revenge with Steve. Since her departure, Steve had a baby with Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) right after he broke up with Michelle Connor. (Kym Marsh) And that’s exactly what he did to Karen in 2003. He got Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) pregnant while he was supposedly on a break with Karen.

According to Suranne, she doesn’t have much time for television these days, but she does keep up with the Coronation Street storylines. She told Britain’s The Sun in a new interview, “I don’t have time to keep up with Corrie but I’m friends with Jennie McAlpine and Anthony Cotton so I do catch up. But I didn’t know Steve had a baby – that is news to me and I am gobsmacked.”

Suranne also added that she would love to come back to Coronation Street and make it a charitable cause at the same time. She added, “If it was for a good cause and we were going to raise a lot of money, I’d ¬definitely consider it for Comic Relief.”
