Coronation Street Spoilers: Leanne Battersby Heartbroken By Simon Barlow’s New Plans

It’s safe to say at this point that Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) has not had a very good year. In fact, things just seem to be going from bad to worse for her as now it looks like she might be left heartbroken and devastated over Simon Barlow’s (Alex Bain) plans for the future. Here’s what you need to know.

Leanne has been enjoying her time with her ex-husband Nick Tilsley, (Ben Price0 until she found out that he was secretly married to another woman. And now it looks like Leanne is about to get another blow, but this time from Simon. The young lad told his father Peter (Chris Gascoyne) and his grandfather Ken (William Roache) that he’s been thinking about his future after talking about potential career tracks at school. He told his father and grandfather that he wants to join the forces, much to the delight of Peter, who once served in the Navy himself.

Needless to say, Leanne wasn’t very happy with this decision. She was less than supportive and even tried to talk Simon out of the idea. While Leanne seemed rather shocked over Simon’s decision, Peter seemed to predict Leanne’s response. Leanne then blamed her ex for Simon’s decision and told Peter, “You know what, this is you this is. Banging on about your adventures with Kieran, you do know it’s all lies?”

If that weren’t enough, Leanne also shouted, “You can’t get a new son Peter, and I’m not waving mine off to war.”

So does this mean that Leanne is about to lose her son? Or will he change his mind and stay in Weatherfield? Fans will find out soon enough! Coronation Street airs weeknights on the ITV network.
