Coronation Street Fans Excited: Ken Barlow Says Emily Bishop Is Home!

Coronation Street spoilers indicate that fan favorite Emily Bishop (Eileen Derbyshire) is back, but with a catch. The last time viewers saw Emily in Weatherfield was back in 2016 and before she took off to Peru to do charity work. The 86-year-old actress took a break from the soap two years ago. She has played her character Emily for over 55 years on the long-running series.

Ken Barlow (William Roache) tells Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) that his friend has returned back home to take care of her sick niece, Freda Burges (Fans). He didn’t reveal any additional details or when we would be seeing Emily back. Yet, it didn’t take long for Coronation Street fans to express their excitement over seeing Emily again on social media.

As a matter of fact, a lot of fans have taken to their Twitter accounts to write comments such as, “Great to hear that the character of #EmilyBishop is back in the country again looking after Freya #Corrie hopefully the legendary @eileenderbys is back filming on the soap,” along with, “Emily? Did someone say, Emily? Is Mrs. Bishop coming back? If so, would be wonderful! #EmilyBishop #Corrie.”

At the same time, a lot of people are wondering if this means that Emily might return just in time for something horrible and devastating to happen to her. Some even believe that she might have an on-screen death scene. So far Coronation Street producers have not made any comments. Fans will just have to tune in to see what will happen next!
