Coronation Street Spoilers: How Fiz Brown Is Leaving The Show

“Coronation Street” just revealed that another character is leaving the show soon. Fiz Brown, played by Jennie McAlpine, will make her exit from the ITV soap as she takes her maternity leave. Everyone in the show kept her departure a secret, leaving the viewers in shock on the news of bidding farewell.

Fiz has been through a lot recently especially after Evelyn Plummer’s debut on “Coronation Street.” She’s been in conflict with Evelyn, the soap’s newest character that’s portrayed by Maureen Lipman, ever since the latter arrived in the cobbles. The recent actions of her husband, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), has left her feeling hurt and pushed out. First, he found out that he has another family and then he looked for his grandmother.

All these conflict and heartache will eventually cause Fiz to say goodbye to everyone in Weatherfield. In an interview with This Morning, the 72-year-old Maureen Lipman hinted that her character will play a role in Jennie’s departure.

She said, “I would say that, yes, a lot of picking her up and kicking her up the backside but I am quite involved.”

While discussing her character’s arrival on the show and how it affected the main characters, she said, “She doesn’t think she’s good enough for what is, or might be her grandson.”

With Fiz’s departure, Maureen also revealed that her character Evelyn will be staying in the show for a while as she takes her time getting to know her grandson.

Another character may also say goodbye to the ITV soap. Beverly Callard’s character, Liz McDonald, could also be saying her farewell soon. She is set to be in the spotlight in the show’s upcoming Christmas storyline.
