Bold and The Beautiful Alum Jacob Young Weighs In On Reprising His GH Role As Lucky Spencer

Bold and The Beautiful Alum Jacob Young Weighs In On Reprising His GH Role As Lucky SpencerJacob Young has recently opened up about not renewing his contract with “The Bold and The Beautiful,” where he played Rick, Maya’s (Karla Mosley) love interest, and fans of “General Hospital” are quick to ask if he will return to the soap as Lucky Spencer.

When asked about his possible return to GH, Young said, “It’s always been on my radar,” in an interview with Soaps In Depth. “Lucky was a really special time and of course, I won the Emmy for that role, so that’s always gonna stick out in my mind,” he added.

In 2000, Young took on the role as the young Lucky, which was formerly portrayed by Jonathan Jackson. He continued to play the role for three years and during his second year, he managed to nab the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor. Young also played roles in other soaps including JR Chandler on “All My Children.”

He announced his departure from CBS in May. He didn’t renew his contract with B&B so he can pursue other opportunities. “If B&B doesn’t have any stories for me to play and GH does, then I am more than willing to… I don’t see myself going under contract,” Young admitted.

He added, “If there’s a storyline written on one of the shows, then I’m not going to be able to most likely be part of a film. So I don’t want to limit myself and I think that they understand that. But a lot of times they want you to sign a contract, so it’s a catch-22.”

Young has been involved in several projects. He has a new YouTube talk show, a new album, and also played roles in different TV movies. All these show his eagerness and excitement to try new things. He also noted that he is willing to do short stints, as long as it fits his schedule.

He is open to the idea and he also pointed out that “General Hospital” Executive Producer Frank Valentini knows about it, too. For now, fans have to wait and see if Young will return to GH or in B&B.
