Will General Hospital Dillon Quartermaine Turns To Dark Side? Robert Palmer Watkins Wouldn’t Mind!

Are fans about to see General Hospital’s good-guy Dillon Quartermaine take a walk on the wide side? Or maybe even take a trip to the dark side?

That scenario wouldn’t be an unwelcome one for Dillon’s portrayer, Robert Palmer Watkins. In fact, the actor wouldn’t mind seeing a bit of a shakeup in Dillon’s heroic character. Are fans about to see General Hospital’s good-guy Dillon Quartermaine take a walk on the wild side? Or maybe even take a trip to the dark side?

In a recent interview with ABC Soaps In Depth, the popular star dished on how he perceives his alter ego, and where he’d like to see the character go in the future.

“I love that Dillon’s … a good guy,” said Watkins. He went on to say that he’s been given some great material to work with, no doubt referring to his tumultuous relationship with Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin).

Dillon has been Kiki’s strong and steady rock while she’s dealt with her mother’s horrible accident. In fact, Kiki is one of the few people who can stand Ava (Maura West) after all of her evil misdeeds. Most people in town think that Ava was given karmic payback when she was burned and disfigured in a tragic fire.

Nonetheless, Dillon has been nonjudgmental of his girlfriend and her feelings. But as Watkins notes, maybe Dillon is just a little too good?

“Being too good for too long gets boring,” he says. “You don’t grow up with Tracy and not have some demons!”

He’s referring to his onscreen mother Tracy Quartermaine, played by the recently departed, and incomparable star, Jane Elliott.

Tracy was a demon in her time, once withholding her father’s heart medication while he screamed out for it in the middle of a heart attack. The joke was on her though, since the old codger was faking it to test her; yes, demon blood runs through the Quartermaines!

So Watkins has a point when he says that despite Dillon’s sweetness, he’s going to have some of that “aggressive,” persona in his DNA.
