Weekly Soap Opera Ratings December 19-23: A Happy Holiday For Y&R, B&B, DOOL, And GH

The soap opera ratings for the week of December 19 through December 23 have been reported by Soap Opera Network. Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and The Beautiful, General Hospital all enjoyed an increase in total viewers the week before Christmas. ‘Y&R,’ ‘GH’ and ‘B&B’ also enjoyed increased holiday ratings with women 18-49. Unfortunately, ‘DOOL’ lost viewers in this demographic during the week of December 19-23.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES

‘DOOL’ ratings for the week of December 19-23 celebrated an enormous increase in total viewers with 2,456,000 total viewers watching over the previous week. That is an increase of 120,000 in that category. Unfortunately, ‘DOOL’ didn’t fare as well with women 18-49. The daytime drama had 409,000 viewers in this demographic which represents a loss of 3,000 women viewers ages 18- through 49.

GENERAL HOSPITAL

‘GH’ celebrated the holidays with a jump in the ratings for both total viewers and women viewers ages 18-49. The soap opera had 2,688,000 total viewers and that is a gain of 54,000 over the previous week. Not only was total viewership up, but ‘General Hospital’ enjoyed an increase in women viewers 18-49 with 485,000 watching the week of December 19-23. That represents an increase of 9,000 in this demographic.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

Soap Opera Network reports an increase of 48,000 total viewers for ‘B&B’ the week of December 19-23 with 3752,000 tuned in, The Bold and the Beautiful came back strong with women viewers 18-49 with 5`5,000 tuned in. That’s an increase of 46,000 viewers in this demographic over the previous week.

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

‘Y&R’ ratings for the week of December 19 through December 23 brought holiday joy to the daytime drama. ‘The Young and the Restless’ had 4,729,000 total viewers which represents a gain of 107,000 viewers during the week before Christmas. The soap opera also saw an increase in the ratings with women viewers 18-49 with 585,000 tuned in. That represents a gain of 35,000 from the previous week.
