This is Us Season 2 Episode 5 Spoilers: Kevin Fights Painkiller Addiction, Baby Heartache for Pregnant Kate?

This is Us Season 2 episode 5 “Brothers” spoilers indicate that the Pearson family has never seen this much drama in their lives before. Kate is pregnant with her first child, Randall is trying to connect to his foster child Deja and Kevin has a new addiction to painkillers.

Toby is absolutely floored when Kate tells him that she is expecting their first child. After all, the couple has just settled in their new life together. They haven’t even walked down the aisle yet and now they are preparing for one of the biggest changes in their life.

Meanwhile, Randall is trying to connect to his new foster child, Deja. But things get ugly when a girl says nasty comments about her hair at a bowling alley. Deja takes matters into her own hands by pushing the girl. Randall himself almost throws the girl’s father down to defend Deja.

Kevin’s life takes an unexpected twist as well. The teaser trailer reveals that he is fighting his own personal demons with a substance abuse problem. He can be heard begging his doctor to refill his painkillers prescription, saying, “Can you help a guy when he is in pain?” There’s a strong possibility that Kevin might end up having an addition problem just like his father Jack.

Also, Jack receives unexpected news from Rebecca while he’s on his camping trip with the boys. Rebecca calls him to tell him that his father is dying. When Jack can’t make it to the hospital on time, Rebecca fills in for him and meets her father-in-law for the very first time while at his bedside.
