Scott (Daniel Hall) overcame the actions of terrible people when he was overseas on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Scott was held captive as part of a misguided ideological agenda. But Zack (Ryan Ashton) represents a far different threat, which is at least as dangerous.
Abby (Melissa Ordway) was stunned to learn that Scott was found with Natalia (Tina Ivlev) at the Night and Day Motel. His acknowledgment of the situation inside Crimson Lights was played off as part of Hashtag’s investigation into the trafficking ring.
Earlier, Scott prevented Sharon (Sharon Case) from directly confronting Zack. His instincts were right, as it would have been a mistake for her to tip Scott’s hand in this high-stakes game.
However, instead of maintaining that savvy stance Scott directly confronted Zack. He denied being involved in having setup Scott to look like a killer, that Design Date was a front for the ring, or that he was connected to anything illegal.
Allowing Zack to gain knowledge was a serious miscalculation with potentially deadly consequences. Scott admitted as much, which revealed the effect this ordeal is having on him.
When pressed in the recent past, Zack moved Crystal (Morgan Obenreder) out of town, seemingly had Alice (Tamara Clatterbuck) run down by a car, or did it himself, then kidnapped her from Genoa City Memorial Hospital. As Y&R fans know, he also drugged the drink Scott was having at The Underground and orchestrated a scene that left Natalia lifeless.
Zack is the type to strike at his enemies by hitting targets that are connected to them. So there’s every reason to believe that he would go after Sharon, Lauren (Tracey Bregman) or even Abby.

Scott’s dilemma is that he doesn’t have proof of Zack’s involvement in the ring, or proof of his related crimes. So he’ll need to apply his investigative skills and potentially benefit from a soapy break. The latter option would seem likely in order to push this storyline to a fitting conclusion.
