The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Victor’s Ruse Leads To New Year’s Love – Nikki Remains One and Only

Oh, Victor (Eric Braeden) did engineer a business agreement on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Playing off his strengths, Mr. Newman negotiated an agreeable settlement of recent grievances with his personal business partner, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). However, both halves of ‘Niktor’ will find that their love is also rekindled in the New Year.

Crisis, of some sort, has always revealed their true feelings. Wouldn’t it make soapy sense to have that process repeat itself as 2018 unfolds?

Possibly, Nikki’s Multiple Sclerosis’ issues deepen, or Victor’s health takes a turn for the worse. Both people are okay when one attacks the other, but let an outside party go after either person and a defensive reaction is to be expected. So, an unseen and unexpected threat by a new force could easily bring these two age-old soul mates together.

It’s debatable whether Y&R is better when ‘Niktor’ is together, or apart. This subjective issue reflects upon observer’s views of both characters and the actors who portray them. It’s also fair to suggest that one’s experience with, or take on marriage also factors into whether Victor and Nikki are a worthwhile couple.

Interestingly, if one favors Victor over Nikki, or the reverse, arguments can be made that state both sides were equally wrong for the trouble that exists between them. Yet, relationships aren’t, or shouldn’t be a zero sum gain.

Paul (Doug Davidson) and Christine (Lauralee Bell) are playing off their belief that Nikki is trapped by Victor in their marriage. Their assertion that Victor was involved with Design Date is absolutely misguided. So it’s possible that the outside force referenced earlier could be ‘Pristine’.

Nikki defends her man. Victor appreciates his wife’s loyalty and ‘Niktor’ moves along. Until the next time, right?

That is the final rub, really. No matter how often they’ve broken, this couple always reforms. They are, without questions, two halves of a whole, regardless of what anyone in GC, or its observers choose to believe. So expect the full-fledged version of Niktor to be revisited soon someway, somehow.
