The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Victor Gains Opportunity To Help Nick – Fire At The Underground

Victor (Eric Braeden) recently agreed to a truce with Nick (Joshua Morrow) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Whether their peace accord was genuine is about to be tested. The fire that will erupt this week at The Underground will afford the ‘Moustache’ an opportunity to rebuild his relationship with Nick.

Both men can be bullheaded, which is why they’ve feuded so often in the past. The most recent disagreement quickly became bitter, with father and son digging in.

Through his own initiative, Nick came to learn that Victor had been using Chloe (Elizabeth Hendricks), who had admitted to killing Adam (Justin Hartley). Her subsequent escape from Genoa City caused Nick further distress, as he felt compelled to immediately tell Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) what he’d learned.

Resulting fallout split ‘Niktor’, caused Vickie to become alienated from her dad for awhile and eventually broke Faith’s (Alyvia Alyn Lind) trust in her grandfather. As expected, Victor blamed Nick for those rifts and decided to cut him off.

However, Victor went beyond not talking. Instead, among other things, he tasked Kevin (Greg Rikaart) to take back the $500 million Nick received from his dad as part of a legal settlement won years ago. Kevin had only transferred Nick’s checking account balance to Victor’s concealed coffers to-date. Due to the truce agreement, it seemed as though Victor was going to cancel the remaining heists.

Nick’s recent decision to donate the half-billion dollars he’d received from his dad limits available liquid cash that will be needed to rebuild The Underground, less realized insurance.

As Y&R viewers recall, based on Noah’s (Robert Adamson) initiative, Nick bought into turning his GC-based nightclub into a nationwide chain. Victor was working with the Newman family’s financial adviser to stymie Nick’s expansion plans.

Now, in consideration of the damage to The Underground, Victor will have a decision to make. He can choose to take advantage of Nick’s weak position, or he can help him. Though, if the second choice is made Nick would have to consider whether his dad’s offer is real, or comes with unspoken preconditions.
