Sharon (Sharon Case) proved herself earlier this year on ‘The Young and the Restless’. After countless storylines wrote this character downward, Sharon finally demonstrated strength and resolve after Dylan (Steve Burton) departed. Then she paired with Scott (Daniel Hall), which seemed to be promising.
Scott had been loyal to Sharon until he was locked in a storage unit by Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) deranged boyfriend. Zack’s (Ryan Ashton) spin out of control impacted ‘Shott’, as Scott pursued the trafficking ring story for Hashtag. Then, as viewers recall, ‘Scabby’ may have formed.
Just because Abby and Scott shared a moment doesn’t mean that they will end up together. There appeared to be far more latent interest projected by Abby toward Scott in recent months than vice versa. However, there’s no telling what may happen now that these two people chose to start a romantic history.

Soaps don’t create incidents, like the one that happened in the storage unit, with the intent of keeping them secret. The gist in this instance is that said incident will be revealed, overheard, forced out or whatever. Then all involved characters will react in various ways.
Sharon will come to know what happened between her significant other and Abby. At that point viewers will learn if she follows Lily’s (Christel Khalil) initial response path. In that arc Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) mistake was different than Scott’s and eventually resulted in Sam being born and Juliet (Laur Allen) dying. This plot line is very different and will continue to be, especially if Abby doesn’t have Scott’s baby.
Case fans will be watching to see if Mal Young and his team maintain the character restoration that Sally Sussman and Kay Alden initiated. It would be logical for Sharon to react with emotion when (not if) she learns what Scott did. However, as with Dylan’s departure, she needs to get over it and move forward.

Y&R fans, along with Case supporters in particular, have had enough of Sharon the villain, or Sharon the kook or Sharon the town pariah. After 23 years in Genoa City, Sharon is a middle-aged adult who has endured plenty and made mistakes.
So here’s hoping that Sharon handles Scott’s mistake as any normal person would. Whether Y&R wants to keep her with him, or not, isn’t the point. Instead, Case’s legacy character and all fans of the show would be best served by allowing Sharon’s growth to continue.
