The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Scott and Abby Together – Next Couple Emerges

Abby (Melissa Ordway) didn’t like Scott (Daniel Hall) on ‘The Young and the Restless’, or at least that’s what she claimed. But relationships will change now that he’s come to her defense. ‘Zabby’ is over and ‘Shott’ is slipping away.

Savvy viewers could see ‘Scabby’ coming for months. Y&R fans also surely know various couples that initially behaved like Scott and Abby, or maybe they were one of the characters in real life themselves. Chemistry is often easy to spot. One, the other or both parties get under each other’s skin, which basically reveals attraction. Such is the human race.

Devoted audience members recall that Ben (Sean Carrigan) was written out of the story awhile ago. His last name isn’t Hochman (Ben Hermes) by the way. That character was referred to as Benjamin, whose interest was in Abby’s mother. Carrigan’s photo has also remained on Y&R’s cast list page, so ‘Stitch’ should return someday.

Something was off when Abby suddenly decided that she wanted to divorce Ben. They fought hard to be together and had formed a nice family. The character of Abby also matured as a character by handling Max (Jared Breeze) with skill and eventually, grace. So the explanation she offered, about never having loved Ben, felt like a plot vehicle that allowed Carrigan to drop to apparent recurring status.

The mini-flashback seen above allowed Abby to be free when Zack was later written into Genoa City. He projected as her next match and became that. However, Ashton’s tenure was certain to be short-term as soon Zack was revealed as the head of the trafficking ring. As that was playing out, Abby began confiding in Scott.

Meanwhile, Sharon (Sharon Case) remains deeply concerned about her significant other’s pursuit of his Hashtag story. She hasn’t yet realized that her connection with Scott has been weakening as well.

Relationships will change now that Crystal (Morgan Obenreder) has publicly exposed Zack, which forced him to come clean with Abby. ‘Scabby’ is primed to replace ‘Shott’. But if (when) that happens one wonders who, if anyone, Sharon might be with next?
