The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Phyllis Embrace Spurns Vickie – J.T.’s Return Established

Billy (Jason Thompson) was rescued on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That very soapy development led to his embrace of Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), who was standing directly aside from Vickie (Amelia Heinle) in the twisted shadows of The Underground inferno on Halloween night. Savvy viewers know that dramatic moment established the lead-in to the return of J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill).

It appeared as though ‘Philly’ was moving toward its end, but an audience head-fake may have just happened. Billy apparently does love Phyllis more than Vickie, at the moment. Whether Phyllis proves to be another soul mate and his eventual wife is unpredictable.

With whatever develops, the public announcement of Luckinbill’s return creates two interesting scenarios. Vickie’s life and Reed’s (Tristan Lake Leabu) reality will be completely impacted by J.T.’s return from Poland, where he was said to be working.

In the real world, Heinle and Luckinbill filed for divorce in March of this year. So the one-time workplace-based romance that led to their marriage has begun to serve as a place where both actors will now collaborate. Hollywoodland has always been about play-acting.

Luckinbill was last seen on Y&R in 2010. He left Genoa City with Mackenzie (Clementine Ford). ‘Mack’ is Katherine’s (the late Jeanne Cooper) granddaughter through Brock (the late Beau Kazer). J.T. and Mack are married and have one son together, Dylan (no actor has played this character to-date).

Numerous engaging options now exist as Luckinbill has begun filming. His first episode will be seen on December 12. Halloween, All Saints Day, All Souls Day, Daylight Savings Time, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the start of Advent will have all been experienced by then. Surely all involved GC characters will have evolved a bit as well.
