The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Nikki Keeps Niktor Door Open – Victor Not Yet Ready To Reconcile

Some characters don’t seem to know how good they have it on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But that take could be wrong, or misguided.

Let’s take Victor (Eric Braeden), for example. No one has or will ever love him as Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) does. He knows that, as do all Genoa City viewers. Even though he continues to take his wife for granted, she hasn’t given up on him, or their marriage.

No matter how long Y&R runs, ‘Niktor’ will always be this soap’s number 1 couple. They’ve been together, off and on, for over three decades. There isn’t enough digital ink available to detail their many unions and reunions within this feature. So, let’s focus solely on 2017’s dealings.

Nikki became irate with Victor when Nick (Joshua Morrow) told her that the ‘Moustache’ was linked to Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and therefore, by association, Adam’s (Justin Hartley) death. Many who are aware of ‘Niktor’s’ history didn’t blame Nikki for being angry, or for taking a sabbatical from the Ranch.

As the fall flowed, Nikki and Victor spoke on occasion. They cooled by that point and seemed to be moving slowly toward a reconciliation. But here’s where their fans and detractors split observations.

Jack’s (Peter Bergman) recent kiss-off made Nikki available. If Nikki is committed to returning home and Victor accepts, that doesn’t mean this couple will subsequently remain locked together forever. But why would outside observers, regardless of their subjective take on this duo, believe they know what’s best?

Is it right for Nikki to want to reunite with Victor? Should the ‘Black Knight’ be leery of his wife, who he thinks has often shown disloyalty to him? Since ‘Niktor’ has split and resealed so many times in the past, what is the purpose of them being together, or apart?

As many viewers have likely experienced themselves, and or through observing other couples, only the participants know the real relationship score at any time. All fans in the stands are wise to let the players decide what’s best for themselves. Here’s wishing Nikki and Victor well, both individually and if they so choose, also as a couple.
