The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Nick Must Solve Mystery – Dina Targeted As Fire Bug

Nick (Joshua Morrow) won’t be able to move forward on ‘The Young and the Restless’ until he resolves what happened at The Underground. The fire that destroyed his nightclub has been labeled suspicious by the insurance company. Viewers know who sparked the flames, but the involved Genoa City characters don’t.

Dina (Marla Adams) has wreaked havoc since returning to town. However, her recently reconfirmed Alzheimer’s diagnosis should eventually lessen the blame for the damage she inadvertently caused. In the meantime, Nick must clear his name, as he’s been tagged as the guilty party.

The lead-in to Adams’ character setting the fire was well-written. Dina trotted down the stairs, while Jack (Peter Bergman) was in another part of the Abbott house. She picked up a retro record that Jack bought for her and headed out the front door. Her son was (and remains) none the wiser, as he thought his mother was upstairs.

Jack will believe that he’s Dina’s alibi when a photo of Brent Davis (Bert Kramer) is located inside the charred structure. Madame Mergeron might experience an enlightening flashback and confess, or digital footage from an outside security camera could also place Jack’s mother at that location just prior to when the flames started.

Nick has been trying to stabilize his life ever since he learned that Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) was Victor’s (Eric Braeden) puppet. Morrow’s character opted to make multiple moves to sever ties with his father, even choosing to pledge the entire five-hundred million dollar fortune he was awarded a handful of years ago.

Resolving this lingering business issue will help Nick to further separate himself from the trouble Victor’s been causing him, or so he thinks. Y&R fans are aware that the Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) paternity issue, when revealed, will overshadow all that’s happened within the last year and surely affect, if not end, ‘Chick’.

Yes, Dina is the heretofore unknown firebug while Nick has come under unjust suspicion. But this is soap, so GG devotees know that all will be resolved. How that happens is why fans will be watching.
