The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily Personal and Business Lives Are in Flux – Fall Changes Flow

Lily (Christel Khalil) recently told Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) that she just wanted to be friends on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That doesn’t mean Cane (Daniel Goddard) will be embraced again anytime soon. But she still loves the father of her children, so a ‘Lane’ revival can’t be ruled out.

Cane’s inebriated rant outside of the Ashby house and his subsequent time in jail further reinforces Lily’s rightful uncertainty about her husband. She’s filed for divorce as viewers know.

A series of misguided events began with Cane’s night in Tokyo, Japan and bled into his foolish sabotage of Billy’s (Jason Thompson) DARE commercial in Los Angeles, California. Resulting blackmail coerced Cane to steal from his children’s school fund. Lily’s knowledge of that fact proved to be too much for her to accept.

The hope for reconciliation will persist within the hearts of all ‘Lane’ fans until that legal issue is fully resolved one way, or another. Sometimes love and hope aren’t enough to save a marriage.

In other instances time, or unexpected developments do allow healing an reunion. Viewers should learn this couple’s fate by or before the birth of Juliet’s (Laur Allen) son, who is believed to be Cane’s child. However, even if that soapy issue exonerates Cane some day it may already be too late to matter.

Y&R doesn’t have to write Lily immediately into another man’s arms, be that Jordan or whoever. She may choose to go it alone for awhile, as raising Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) is her most important priority.

Recent developments at Brash and Sassy have resulted in the one-time Newman Enterprises division being folded back into Victor’s business portfolio. Lily would seem a likely candidate to survive the acquisition, that Vickie (Amelia Heinle) is terming a merger.

Lily’s work life will change if she’s retained and becomes a Newman employee. The multitude of resulting opportunities would lead to her meeting other people. And with that would come new personal connections.
