The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Lily Able To Save Lane – Cane Open To Reconciliation

Lily (Christel Khalil) recently realized that she wants Cane (Daniel Goddard) back in her life on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She still loves her husband and is willing to put the past aside as part of a healing process. Cane is open to reconciliation, but believes that Lily has moved on.

At this point Cane no longer believes that he and Lily will stay together. Yes, it’s true that Mrs. Ashby hasn’t moved forward with divorce proceedings. But Mr. Ashby is telling various people, when the subject is raised, that he’s accepted his wife’s decision.

Sam’s birth, along with Juliet’s (Laur Allen) death, affected ‘Lane’ in differing ways. Cane has been by his newborn son’s side at the hospital, awaiting word as to when he’ll be able to take him home. At the same time Cane has been busy running Chancellor Industries, which was a generous career-tap Jill (Jess Walton) offered to her stepson who was struggling to find a job.

Lily is a good mother. She’s raising the twins on her own and is adjusting to a new position with Newman Enterprises due to Brash and Sassy’s acquisition.

It’s not that Cane is no longer interested in reconciling, or that Lily opted to move forward without the love of her life. Instead, developing circumstances have rearranged each person’s current priorities.

The Christmas season will surely provide plenty of opportunities for Cane and Lily to bond if both parties recognize their mutual option. Lily, in particular, will need Cane’s full attention. When that’s been had she needs to tell him exactly what she’s thinking. His realization of what is a second chance would change his outlook completely.

‘Lane’, like all longtime soap couples, has been through a lot. Lily and Cane are capable of salvaging their relationship and being there, together, for the kids, which now includes Sam.

Lily is the one who suggested his name as a way to honor Cane’s deceased sister. That show of compassion hints at Mrs. Ashby’s potential to reach more deeply inside herself and save her family.
